Strickland, Sir Charles William, Bart., M.A., Trin. Coll., Camb., 1847, high sheriff Yorks North Riding 1880, J.P., D.L., and J.P., D.L. East Riding, a student of Lincoln's Inn 11 March, 1841 (then aged 22), called to the bar 6 May, 1847, and admitted to the Middle Temple ad eundem 6 Feb., 1849 (eldest son of Sir George Strickland, alias Cholmely, of Boynton, Yorks, Bart.); born 6 Feb., 1819; married 1st, 19 Sept., 1850, Georgina Selina Septima, dau. of Sir William Milner, Bart., M.P.; she died 13 June, 1864, leaving a son; he married 2ndly, 22 May, 1866, Anne Elizabeth, dau. of Rev. Christopher Nevile, of Thorney, Notts, and has issue (see Foster's Baronetage).
