Sykes, John Gaskell Walker, LL.B., honours London Univ. 1874 and a member of Convocation, practises in privy council appeals, member of the bar of the North-west Provinces of India, late standing counsel to Government of India in opium department Benares agency, Oude, and standing counsel to Oude and Rohilcund Government, guaranteed railway contributor to the Calcutta Review and Law Magazine and Review, a student of Lincoln's Inn 30 March, 1871 (then aged 18), called to the bar 26 Jan., 1874 (4th son of Joseph Sykes, of Manchester, gent.); born 21 Sept., 1852; married 11 Oct, 1876, Henrietta, youngest dau. of late Joseph Walker, Esq., of Low Hills, Lindley, and has issue.
