A very beautiful and graceful shrubby plant, a native of the Chatham Islands, which have several remarkable species not found in New Zealand proper, some of which are figured elsewhere in this work. Cultivated specimens of O. semidentata have the flowers of a deeper purple than in the wild state, in which it is not uncommon to see the ray-florets almost white, tipped with pale purple at the extremities. It is a plant well worthy of general cultivation in gardens. It flowers in Spring.
