Notes on lipu pu (2021)

Notes and corrections made by Lang herself in her 2021 publication Toki Pona Dictionary. Note that these following quotes are not released to the public domain, but licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license.

  1. 1.0 1.1 1.2

In an effort to minimize the vocabulary for learners, some words were presented as merged: a and kin, sin and namako, lukin and oko. In reality, the community of Toki Pona speakers, both before and after publication of the first book, uses these words with different meanings. See the dictionary part of [Toki Pona Dictionary (2021)] for definitions.

(See also Wiktionary definitions: a and kin; sin and namako; lukin and oko.)

  2. Correction:

    akesi
    nounreptile, amphibian

    ("non-cute animal" was removed)

  3. Non-ableist language:

    nasa
    adjectiveunusual, strange; silly; drunk, intoxicated

("foolish, crazy" was changed to "silly")

  4. The examples given for seli are in fact nouns.

(Erroneously marked as "adjective" in the 2014 publication; corrected on this page)
