It is the great royal command of Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramin Maha Chulalongkorn Phra Chunlachomklao Chaoyuhua decreeing to all that the following be announced for general knowledge: Whereas He entertains an opinion that after the Council of State has been ordered to consult together and compose the provisions of a new act on criminal procedure to replace the ancient procedural laws and ordinances still in force in this Kingdom of Siam, the examination of the draft of this new criminal procedure act needs to be delayed and would not be finished in time for its scheduled promulgation, whilst criminal cases pending trial are now increasing a great deal, not to mention new cases which would be brought before the courts of criminal jurisdiction, making it appropriate to first finalise them at once;
Therefore, He orders with His gracious pleasure that the following criminal procedure act be enacted for provisional use:
