Therefore, a great royal command is given, by and with the advice and consent of the House of People’s Representatives, that the following Act be enacted:

Section1.This Act shall be called the “Act Promulgating the Provisions of Book 5 of the Civil and Commercial Code, 2477 Buddhist Era”.

Section2.This Act shall come into force from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.The provisions of Book 5, containing section 1435 through section 1598 as enacted at the end of this Act, shall be inserted in the Civil and Commercial Code as part of its, and the provisions of this Book shall come into force from the 1st day of October 2478 Buddhist Era onwards.

Section4.The provisions of this Book do not affect—

(1)the marriages which took place before the day of coming into force of this Book, as well as the family relationships arising therefrom;

(2)the exercise of the parental power, guardianships, custodianships, and adoption of children which took place before the day of coming into force of this Book, or the rights and obligations arising therefrom.
