Announcement
Regarding the repeal of the Announcement of a State of Emergency in the Area of Bangkok
as well as the relevant announcements, ordinances, and orders

After the issuance of the Announcement of a State of Emergency in the Area of Bangkok dated 2 September 2551 BE in order to put the various measures provided in the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE, into operation for the purpose of controlling, suppressing, and resolving the problems of disturbance which have led to unrest within Bangkok, it now appears that the situations grounding the announcement of the state of emergency are in the condition that state authorities and state agencies can control, suppress, and resolve as usual using the measures under various laws.

Therefore, by virtue of the power under the stipulations of section 5, paragraph 3, of the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE—a law containing certain provisions relating to the restriction of personal rights and freedoms, which section 29 together with section 32, section 33, section 34, section 36, section 38, section 41, section 43, section 45, and section 63 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, permits to be done through the power under a legal provision—the Prime Minister hereby issues the following announcement:

Article1.The Announcement of a State of Emergency in the Area of Bangkok dated 2 September 2551 BE shall be repealed.

Article2.All the announcements, ordinances, and orders issued under the Emergency Decree on Public Administration in State of Emergency, 2548 BE, as a result of the Announcement of a State of Emergency in the Area of Bangkok dated 2 September 2551 BE, shall come to an end.

This shall come into force henceforth.

Announced on the 14th day of September 2551 BE
Somchai Wongsawat
Deputy Prime Minister, acting on behalf of
the Prime Minister
