chak is accurate and contains quite clear narratives, for which reason the version by Phraya Prachakitkorachak is herein printed. The manner in which the document was composed in the Lan Chang Thai language,[1] which is different from the Thai language spoken in the south,[2] may render readers confused to a certain extent at first, but after viewing or reading it until getting used to it, readers would be able to understand it with ease and no effort.
This book is entitled A Collection of Chronicles, Volume 1 because it contains various chronicles compiled into one and the same volume and is published for the first time. More histories and chronicles will further be collected and published. Once published, they will be serially named Volume 2, Volume 3. The first volume, which only contains six works as herein printed, is already of a considerable size.
I believe that all those who have read this book, especially those interested in studying history and archaeology, would thank and salute Her Majesty the Queen Aunt for having this book published, thereby offering knowledge in public interest, which should be considered a meritorious act of which the fruits would last everlastingly.
