in the [draft] constitution, such as the setting up of the guarantee of rights and freedoms of the Thais in a more secure manner, the designation of a policy of the State which would help maintain the continuity and consistency of the handling of the public services, the amendment to certain provisions on the powers and duties of the Senate, the expansion of the powers of the National Assembly to control the handling of the public services of the State, the improvement of [relevant] procedures which would enable the Legislative and the Executive to hear each other's opinions in a broad manner, and the modification of the powers of the Legislative in relation to the giving of confidence to the Executive so that they be more suitable. And in order to take people's opinions into account for the drafting of the constitution, the Constitution Drafting Assembly had all along given opportunities to people to attend its meetings, and it selected nine of its Members to form a Committee with the duty to hear people's opinions and introduce them to the Assembly.
