The President of the Constitution Drafting Subcommittee said: “In principle, it refers to the ‘person of the King’, that is, his self. But, in Thai, I don’t know if simply using the term ‘Monarch’ would work. May I invite Chaophraya Thammasak to kindly provide an explanation.”
Chaophraya Thammasak said: "If it denotes person as said, that which has been written already works. But if it denotes body, then what Nai Sa-nguan said is right. So, I think that removing the word divine, leaving only ‘the person of the Monarch’, would be fine.” The President of the Constitution Drafting Subcommittee seconded him. Nai Sa-nguan Tularak agreed.
The President of the House said: “In regard to this section 3, there are two amendments, namely, adding the word sacro in front of the word sanctity and removing the word divine, thereby causing section 3 to read ‘The person of the Monarch dwells in sacrosanctity, which shall no one violate’. As there is no one objecting, I beg you to cast your vote.” All the Members voted in favour thereof. Accordingly, section 3 as amended was deemed satisfactory.
