INDEX.
[The plan or numbering the sections of the compilation consecutively from the beginning throughout the several codes, and the very full system of cross-references which has been adopted, will, it is believed, make this index especially appreciated by all. who have occasion to consult the law of the territory. In its preparation, liberal use has been made of the index accompanying "Levisee's Dakota Codes," and the compilers desire to express their obligations thereto. The arrangement of all Definitions, Dates, Forms, Felonies, Misdemeanors, etc., together will facilitate reference very materially. The entries under Definitions, being arranged alphabetically, make them a sort of short index to the general topics in the various codes. The arrangement of all prescribed dates, consecutively from the beginning to the end of the year, will afford to each officer a reminder of the times at which particular duties are to be performed.]
