INTRODUCTION

This publication is a revision of the United Nations Standard Country Code published in 1970.[1] The annex contains an alphabetical list of countries or areas showing the United Nations three-digit mumerical codes and eight- and twelve-character abbreviations; in addition, it shows the two- and three-letter

alphabetical codes (Alpha-2 and Alpha-3) proposed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).[2]
