תכיפה f. (חכף) [junction, fastening,] 1) stitch or knot. Kil. תכך II m. (preced.) t'khakh, a worm in silk. Sabb. 90a דשיראי ח׳ the worm in silk is called tkhakh.
בכך m. (b. h.; preced. wds.); pl. תככים middle, mean; ת׳ איש a man of medium wealth, of some means. Lev. R. s. 34 (ref. to Ps. XXIX, 13) ואיש בתורה רש שהוא זה רש וכ׳ ת׳ poor' means poor of knowledge, and the man of means, that is he who has learned one or two orders (of the Mishnah); וכ׳ ת׳ איש עם רש עמד the ignorant comes to the scholarly man, saying, teach me &c.; רש בפעולה עושה שהוא זה ת׳ ואיש בנכסים . 'poord' means poor of possessions, and 'the man of means, that is he who works with success; וכ׳ ת׳ איש עם רש עמד the poor man comes to the successful man &c.; Yalk. ib. 665 איש הנכסים מן בינוני שהוא זה ת׳ he who is of medium wealth (v. Tem. 6a; Ex. R. s. 3 1 ו).

תכליתf. (b. h.; כלה) 1)end, destruction. Num. R. s. 18a וכ׳ כלייה ת׳ אומרים ויש and some say (the ת iu מחלוקת) intimates takhlith, that is, it brings destruction &c. ---- 2) end, oyedt, perfection. Ber. 17a וכ׳ תשובה חכמה ת׳ the end of wisdom is repentance and good deeds, lest a man study . . and treat his father with contempt &c.
תכלת f. (b. h.) purple-shell, a bluish or cerulean dye, purpleblue oool, esp. the purple-blue thread used for the shom-fringes. Sot. 46b ת׳ בה שצובעין לוז היא that is the city of Luz where they dye the tkheleth (v. לו II).
