ארמיותא f. (preced.) gentile ways, Romedom, idol- atry, &c. Meg. III (IV), 9 (25a) whoever translates (Lev. XVIII, 21), ׳Of thy seed thou shalt give none לאעברא בא׳ (Ms. Lond. אומיתא לאעבורי, v. S. a. l. note) to become with child in Romedom (identifying Molokh with Rome and misinterpreting 'haaibir for the purpose of making it applicable to sexual connection with Romans) must be silenced with a sharp rebuke (v. נזיפה); cmp.
