*המניק, הימ׳ m. a sort of spoon or fork, with one end pointed and the other broad (similar to the cochlear, v. כוכליאר). B. Mets. 25b וה׳ סכיני (Ms. R. המנק) knives and fork (which may have been cast on the dunghill inadvertently). Succ. 32a כהימנק דעביד (Ms. M. והוא הימניק כי לה דעביד) when the palm-branch is formed like a himnek (Rashi; like the top of the stylus).

המסמסה, מסמסה f. (מסמס) melting, softening of the brmn or spinal column. Hull. 45b ואיזוהי . איזוהי ה׳ which (of the defects) is hamrakhah, and which hmas- masah Answ. וכ׳ לעמוד יכול שאינו כל מסמסה when the column does not remain upright (when held in the hand). Ib. 53b המ׳ decayed fesh.
המסס o מסס m. (מסס) [the dissolving (digest- ing) receptacle,] the first stomach of ruminants, cmp. הבלילא. Hull. III, 1 המסס (הה־, or המסס). Lev. R. s. 4; Midr. Till. to Ps.
