זו I, perf. a. part. ז (reduplic. of זא or זע, v. זוע, cmp. זאזא) to move, go away, depart. Keth. XII, 3 לזוז, v. אפש. - Yeb. 30a, a. fr. ממקומה זזה לא ומשנה but the Mishnah was not removed from its place, i. e. it was left in the collection as it was, though afterwards repealed or modified. Gitt. 58a וכ׳ מכאן זז איני I shall not leave this spot until &c. Tanh. Matt. 6; Num. R. s. 22, end, a. e. (play on וזים coins) וכ׳ זזים ש they leave the one and are given to the other; a. v. fr. זוז II m. (=זהזה, v. זהה) [the glittering, cmp. איסר, אסתירא &c.) Zue, 1) a silver coin, one fourth of a Shekel, =דינר. Keth. I, 5; a. fr. -- Pl. זוזים, זוזין. Num. זוזא I ch. same. Targ. I Sam. Hag. 5a (prov.) וכ׳ לעללא ז׳ a Zuz for provision is not on hand, but for (saving from) hang- ing it is, i. e. charity often waits for the extremest distress. B. זוזין m. zozin, name of a jewel in the Higbpriest's breast-plate. Targ. Y. Ex. XXVIII, 19 (h. text לשם).
זוח I (cmp. זהה, cmp. זוא P. Sm. 1092) to be elated, cheerful; (in an evil sense) to be proud, overbearing. Keth. 67b עליו דעתו שתזוח כדי in order that his mind be elevated (that he may not feel himself humiliated). -- Ex. R. s. 37 עליו דעתו זחה he became overboearing. Snh. 38a עליו דעתו תזוח אם if he become overbearing; a. e. -- [Y. Sabb. VIII, 11b bot. הזיח, v. next w.]
זוח ch. same. Y. Sabb. VIII, 11b bot. זיחה דלא הא עלי דעתי (not הזיח) this happened because I am not cheerful(I am too poor to collect my thoughts). -- Snh. 96b דעתיה זיחא קא (Rashi זחה) he became overbearing.
זוח II o זח (b. h. זחח; cmp. זוע) to be unsteady, move. -- Part. ח fainthearted, distracted. Keth. 69b; M. Kat. 28b; Yalk. Am. 545, v. מר II. Hif. הזיח or הזיח to remove, to cauuse to move, to force one to yield to others opinions. Hull. 7a אותו מזיחין אין (with ref. to יזח, Ex. XXVIII, 28) we do not make him give uphis opinion; v. זהה. -- Keth. 10b מזיח מזבח (or מזיח) the altar removes (evil decrees).

זוט or זוט m. (זוט, cmp. צבט, צבת) 1) a catch, a baglike receptacle for catch in the fisher's net; the solid web of the net-work. Kel. XXIII, 5 זוטו מפני טמא החרם Ar. (ed. הזוטו, R. Hai G. הזוטן, Var. הזומן) the net is fit. for levitical uncleanness on acrount of its bag (being a receptacle of solid web). Ib. XXVIII, 9 . .. החרם . . העושה טמא ומזוטו (ed. Dehr., Ar. ed. Koh. הזוטו ומן) a garment made out of a net is clean, but one made out of its solid portion &c. -- 2) (cmp. שלל, שלולית) what the Sea throws out, dcposits after the tide; the deposit or ore of a mine. B. Mets. 21b וכ׳ ובשלוליתו ים של בזוטו things found among the deposits of the Sea or the alluvium of a river. Ib. 24a; Ab. Zar. 43a. -- Cant.
