מצי, מצא (b. h.; cmp. מטי) to reach; to find. B. Mets. I, 1 מבאתיה אני I found it. Ib. 2a מצאתיה מאי אמינא הואי וכ׳ ראיתיה I might have thought I found it meant *I discovered it, although he had not taken it up &c. Ih., a. e. וכ׳ לידיה דאתאי ומבאתה 'and which thou hast foundd (Deut. XXII, 3) means that it camme into his possession. Gitt. IX, 10 ערוה דבר בה מ׳ he discovered in her some- thing disgraceful (infidelity); וכ׳ אחרת מ׳ he found another wo man handsomer than she; a. fr. -- וכ׳ אאף . בי מצינו מה what do we find with regard to- So also &c., i. e. as in the case of-, so &c. מצי, מצה (מצא) (b. h.) to soueeze, wring. esp. to wring outt the blood of the bird sacriflce. Sifra Vayikra, N'dab., ch. VIII, Par. 7 מוכה הוא he wrings it; a. fr. Pi. מיצה, מצה 1) same. Zeb. VI, 5, sq.; a. fr. -- 2) to pour out to the lastt drop, to drain. Ib. 64b ימצה כתיב מי וכ ימצה (ed. punctuate ימצה, Hif.) it does not say (Dev. V, 9), he shall pour out (the reimainder) at the bottom &c.', but it shall be wrung out', which means, that it will run out to the bottom of itself. Ter. XI, 8 הרכינה ומיצה (Y. ed. ומיצת; Ms. M. ומצת) if he bent the vessel and drained it; B. Bath. 87b (Ms. H. a. R. ומיצת); ib.
