desert? Makhsh. II, 8 ע׳ פת bread made of started dough
(of pure flour), opp. קיבר פת. Tosef. Hall. I, 4 ע׳ העושה
בבצק לאוכלה if one starts dough with the intention to
eat it as dough when it is risen. Y. ib. II, end, 58a ע׳ דרך
the way dough is made (of pure flour). Ib. מרובה עיסתו
his (the baker's) dough is a large quantity. Ib. יפה כינה
בעיסתה, v. עין; a. v. fr. -- Pl. עיסות. Erub. l. c. (ref. to Num.
XV, 20) עיסותיכם כדי a quantity large enough for your
dough (for immediate use); וכ׳ עיסותיכם וכמה and how
large is that quantity As much as the sa of the desert.

וכ׳ פסולה ע׳ why, then, has it been declared that a woman
of an isah family is prohibited from marrying into priest-
hood? Because suspected hdlalim (v. חלל II) are mixed

one belonging to an isah family. Ib. וכ׳ לטמא כשירה ע׳
a member of an isah family may serve (through inter-

(had incestuous intercourse).
