פחד (b. h.) [to breathe, pant,; to fear; to be anxious. Esth. R. to V, 1 תפחדי למה why art thou afraid? Midr. Till. to Ps. XIV וכ מן פחדו שלא that they were not afraid of the Lord; a. e. Ni~Lנפחד to be frightened, excited. Esth. R. to IV, 15 היתה וכ׳ מאוד נפחדת אסתר Esther was greatly excited on ac- count of the evil &c. Oant.
