קריינא, קרינא m. (קרי I) 1) one able to read in the Bible. Kidd. 49a וכ׳ כיון ק שאני מנת על if one betrothes a woman with the condition 'that I am a karyana', she is betrothed as soon as he can read three verses in the synagogue. Ib. וכ׳ ק׳ דאמר מילי והני this is the case only when he says karyana, but if he says cara &c., v. קרא. -- 2) one who dictates a letter. Snh. 82a, a. fr., v. פריונקא.
