Sir Robert m. in 1618, Anne, 6th dau, of Sir William Usher, clerk of the council; and was s. at his decease, in 1668, by his eldest son,

Sir Joshua m. 2ndly, in 1822, at Etchingham, in Sussex, Doligny, 2nd dau, and co-heir of Col, Edwards, of London, by Sarah his wife, heiress of the late Admiral George Robinson, but by her (who d. 25 Jan. 1864) he had no issue. Sir Joshua, formerly a military officer, was knighted in 1793, and received from Louis XVIII. the order of Military Merit, and from the Grand Duke of Hesse that of Louis of Hesse. Sir Joshua was one of the earliest supporters of the lifeboat system (see "Naufrages et Sauvetages," par M. G. Do La Landelle, p. 214). He d. 27 July, 1850, and was s. by his brother,
