all the time, and for which we have a protective customs duty of 25 per cent ad valorem on the foreign article, many generations will pass before we will find it necessary to compete in other countries with the European oil, whose production of the pure article, as already said, is not up to the actual consumption of the whole world, and which fact accounts for its many adulterations with cotton, sesame, poppy, cocoanut, lard oil, etc., when it is not something worse.
