He comes, from thickest films of vice
To clear the mental ray,
And on the eye long closed in night
To pour celestial day.

He comes, the broken heart to bind,
The bleeding soul to cure;
And, with the riches of His grace,
To bless the humble poor.

Our glad hosannas, Prince of Peace,
Thy welcome shall proclaim;
And Heaven's eternal arches ring
With Thy beloved Name.

HYMN 45.

Hark! the song of Jubilee,
Loud as mighty thunders roar,
Or the fulness of the sea,
When it breakes upon the shore;
Halelujah! for the Lord
God Omnipotent shall reign;
Halelujah! Let the word
Echo round the earth and main.

Halelujah! Hark! the sound
From the centre to the skies,
Wakes above, beneath, around,
All creation's harmonies;
See Jehovah's banners furld,
Sheathed His sword, He speaks,'tis done,
And the kingdoms of this world
Are the kingdoms of His Son.
