HYMN 49.

Hosannah to the living Lord;
Hosannah to th' incarnate Word!
To Christ, Creator, Saviour, King,
Let earth, let Heav'n Hosannah sing!

O Saviour! with protecting care
Return to this Thy House of Pray'r,
Assembled in Thy sacred Name,
Where we Thy parting promise claim.

But, chiefest in our cleansed breast,
Eternal! bid Thy Spirit rest,
And make our secret soul to be
A temple pure, and worthy Thee.

So, in the last and dreadful day,
When Heaven and earth shall pass away,
Thy flock, redeem'd from sinful stain,
Shall swell the sound of praise again.

HYMN 50.

And the broad sun's retiring ray
Sheds a mild lustre o'er the scene.

Such is the Christian's parting hour,
So peacefully he sinks to rest;
And faith re-kindling all its power,
Lights up the languour of his breast

A beam from Heav'n is sent to cheer

The pilgrim on his lonely road;
