Little Polly Flinders
Sat among the cinders
Warming her pretty little toes.
Her mother came and caught her,
And scolded her little daughter
For spoiling her nice new clothes.

What are little boys made of, made of,
What are little boys made of?
Snaps and snails, and puppy-dogs' tails;
And that's what little boys are made of, made of.

What are little girls made of, made of,
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice, and things that are nice;
And that's what little girls are made of, made of.


LXXVI.

There was a little man,
And he wooed a little maid,
And he said, 'Little maid, will you wed, wed, wed?
I have no more to say,
Then will you, yea or nay,
For the least said is soonest mended, ded, ded,'
