Domino: m. A kind of hood, or habit for the head, worne by Cannons; (and hence) also, a fashion of vaile vsed by some women that mourne.

Dammage, losse, detriment, hinderance, incommoditie, discommoditie, hurt, harme, scath, displeasure; disaduantage; a mischiefe done, or ouer-*heauie charge imposed. Mais dommage que, &c. But it is strange, or tis a wonder, that, &c. Qui est loing du plat est prez de son dommage. Pro. He that sits farre from the dish is neere his disaduantage.
Dommageable: com. Dammageable; hurtfull, harmefull, hindering, incommodious vnto.
Dommageablement. Hurtfully, with dammage, to ones harme, losse, and hinderance.
Dommas: m. A Cope-wearer; or, the Priest, or Cannon, who, by turne, is to weare a Cope for a weeke together.

Dompter. To tame, reclaime; daunt; &c; as Donter. Dompte-venin: m. Celandine the greater, swallowes hearb, tetterworte, pileworte, figworte.
Dompte-villain: m. A good cudgell, or any thing wherby a Stubborne knaue is tamed, or awed.
Dompture: f. A taming, reclaiming; daunting; breaking, subduing.

Don: m. A gift, graunt; offering, present; bribe; reward; also, as Dom. le don de mercy. The gift wherein a woman is more mercifull then modest.

Donat. The name of a certaine Gramarian, read in some Schooles; whence; Les diables estoient encores à leur Donat. The diuells were, as then, but breeching boyes, like Grammar Schoole boyes, but young in experience, but Nouices in the world.

Donateur: m. A donor: giuer, bestower.
Donation: f. A donation; a present, gift, or deed of gift; also, a giuing. Donation à cause de mort. See, Mort. Donation entre vifs. A perfect, and vnreuocable gift; an absolute deed of gift, (made, and executed in a mans life time.)
Dondaine: f. A certaine warlike engine (out of vse in these daies) whereout great round stones were shot; also, the burden of a song.
Dondon: f. A short, fat, and grosse woman; a femall bundle of farts.
Dongeon: m. A Dungeon; a strong Tower, or platforme, in the middle of a Castle or fort, wherein the besieged make their last efforts (of defence) when the rest is forced.
