Pierre d'eau de mer. A kind of white, and glittering Gemme; as Oeil de Chat.
Verseur d'eau. The celestiall signe, Aquarius.
De belle eau. Perle de belle eau. Of a faire luster, or water.
De bonne eau. Of a good rellish, or tast, hauing a good smacke with it.
De delà l'eau. Gens de delà l'eau. Simple fellowes, witlesse companions, ignorant creatures.
Affleurir l'eau. To skimme the water; or, goe close by it, as doth a ships lee-side in a strong side-wind.
Amener l'eau au moulin. To draw in gaine, to bring in crownes, to furnish with customers, or commodities.
Avoir de l'eau vers les garces. To haue sap, and moisture enough for his lecherie.
Batre l'eau. To loose his labour, to spend his time in vaine.
Batre les eaux. A Deere to take soyle.
Batre leur eau. To disgest, or shake down their drinke, as a horse thats ridden two or three miles after watering.
Estre en eau. To sweat; (we say also) to be all on a water; Estre en l'eau. To be in, or vpon the water; (so that the Article makes the difference.)
Faire eau. To leake; also, to water, or take in fresh water, for the prouision of a ship.
Laisser de l'eau en son moulin. To leaue himselfe euer somewhat to doe.
Mener à la bonne eau. To steale (as) a horse, (whereto this Phrase is chiefely applyed.)
Mettre de l'eau dedans leur vin. To temper, coole, qualifie, tame them; to take them a hole lower.
Nager en grand' eau. To haunt, frequent, or abide in places, wherein most honour, gaine, roome, and companie may be gotten; Looke Nager.

To be in danger on all sides; to saile betweene Scilla and Charybdis; also, to hold on a middle course betweene two extreames; also, to play on both hands, or apply himselfe vnto the tune, whatsoeuer; Looke Nager. The stillest waters (and humors) are euer the worst.
