Litharge d'argent. Siluer foame, or the spume of tried siluer; or rather, the lead wherein siluer oare
hath beene melted (that it might be purged, and cleered from the lead, or copper that was in it) which being done by a gentle fire giues it a siluer hew, and thereby this name. Litharge d'or. Gold foame; the best kind of Litargie; comes of lead wherein siluer hath beene melted by a quick, and great fire, giuing it a golden luster, & thereby this name.
