  Crinons en teste. Il a beaucoup de crin: en la teste. His head is full of crickets, or crochets; much troubled, or perplexed; he beates it exceedingly about some odde matter or other: Hence the Prouerbe, Crinons en teste gastent la feste; to signifie how vnfit, and vniust a man, in that mood, is to intertaine, or accompanie his friends, which would faine be merrie.
  Le derriere de la teste. The noddle, or nape of the necke; the seat of the memorie; whence, Il a le derriere de la teste vn peu large. He hath but a bad memorie.
  Feu en la teste. Il a du feu en la teste. He is verie chollericke, furious, or courageous; he will carrie no coales.
  Grillons en la teste; &, Tintouïns en la teste. as Crinons en teste.
  Grosse teste. Il a vne grosse teste. He is a ioulthead, or iobernoll; he hath more head then wit; he hath a dull, heauie, or große head of his owne: But when teste is before grosse, these words haue another signification; as, Il n'a pas la teste si grosse. His capacitie is not so large, his vnderstanding not so great, his insight into matters not so deepe.
  Mal de teste. The headach; also, iealousie.
  Mercure en la teste. Seeke Mercure.
  Os de la teste. Is properly the forhead bone.
  Teste à teste. Face to face, cheeke by iowle, fellow*-like, euen with, affront, one ouer against the other.
  À teste baissée. Desperately, furiously.
  À sa teste. As pleaseth him, of his owne head; after his owne fancie, according to his lust or liking, euen as he would haue it.
  La teste levée. Boldly, daringly, confidently, with head lift vp aloft, holding vp his head.
  Avoir bonne teste. Il a bonne t. He is hardie, stout, valiant: Elle a bonne t. She is maisterfull, curst, shrewd; a virago, or scold.
  Avoir la teste bien faicte. To be iudicious, learned, discreet.
  Avoir la teste prez du bonnet Looke vnder Bonnet.
  Avoir vne teste. To be wilfull, headie, selfewillie; to be obstinately bent vnto.
  Baisser la teste. Looke Baisser.
  Bransler la teste. To shake the head; a gesture denoting mockerie, or contempt; (We say of one that shaketh his head, it seemes he is not verie well pleased.)
  La teste luy bransle. Said of one thats in a great feare, or that hath taken a pot too much.
  Donner de la teste. To butt, or iurre; also, to runne his head against.
  Il ne sçait ou donner de la teste. He knowes not whither to turne or betake himselfe, he knowes not what to doe.
  Faire teste à. To resist, or withstand.
  Faire hon de la teste. To seeme loath, or shew himselfe vnwilling, to doe a thing.
  Ie ne feray que ma teste. J will doe no more then J thinke good, J will doe but what pleases me.
  Hocher de la teste. Looke Hocher.
  Laver la teste à. To chide, reproue, taunt, or checke verie bitterly.
  Mettre en teste à. To persuade, suggest, moue, or induce vnto; to put into the head, present vnto the conceit of; also, to oppose, or set against, to confront with.
  On luy mettra la teste aux pieds. He must be beheaded, he must loose his head.
  Ie y partis pour vne teste. J ought to haue a share therein as heire, or coparcener; (for Teste, in matters

of succession, is taken for an heire; whence, if there be three or foure, they say, Ils sont tant de testes; and if one of them die, and leaue many children, they say that altogether, Ils font vne teste; viz. are to haue among them the part which he had, or should haue had.) Testification: f. A testification, testimonie, witnessing, witneße-bearing; a prouing, or confirming, by a witnesse.

Testifié: m. ée: f. Testified, witnessed, proued or confirmed, by witnesses.

Testifier. To testifie, witneße, beare record; proue by testimonie, confirme by witnesses.

Teston: m. A box, or cuffe giuen by the knuckles of a closed fist; also, a Testoone; a piece of siluer coyne worth xviij d sterling. Il fait de son teston six solz; &, Il fait de six solz vn teston. Two Prouerbes applyable to a bad, and a good husband.
