Vin de commeres. Palate wine, sweet and pleasant wine.

Vins François. The wines which grow, or are made, below the bridge of Sens.
Vin de Lion. Strong, and headie wine; or, such wine as makes the drinker a swaggerer.
Vin du marché. The charge which contractors are at with the witneßes, or confirmers of their bargaine.
Vin miellé. Honied wine, bastard, Metheglin, sweet wine; any drinke thats made of honey, and wine.
Vin muscat. Muscadell, or Muscadin.
Vin noir. Looke Noir.
Vin papier. White wine called so by some Switzers.
Vin de porceau. Which makes the drunkard to sleepe, vomit, and tumble him in his vomit.
Vin de pressoirage. Looke Pressoirage.
Vin de regnard. The wine that sharpens, or sets an edge on, the drunkards spirit, making him more subtill, or cunning, then he is, at any time, sober.
Vin de singe. Wine which makes the drinker (or drunkard) pleasant, wanton, or toyish.
Vin des valets. Spending pence, extraordinarie vayles or gifts; odde money bestowed on a mans ordinarie seruants, ouer and aboue the summe due, or agreed on.
Droict de vin, ou de vins, &c. Looke Droict.

Pot au vin. A mans head.
Pot de vin. A summe of money; a reward, or gift; also, the dowrie giuen with a maid in marriage.
Souppe en vin. The hearbe Meddicke fodder, Snayle-Clauer.
Avoir son vin. À cett' heure il aura son vin. He will now be tickled, or haue his full payment; he neuer metwith his match till now: Elles ont eu leur vin. Those wenches haue had it to a haire; viz. a full tast of the sap which they hold most sauorie; (for the bestowing of wine being a principall courtesie in intertainments betweene man and man, is fittest to expresse the other liquor which in courtesie a man giueth a woman.)

Entrer en vin. To enter into a drunken match, to fall a drinking.
Estre sur le vin. To tast, also, to loue, wine verie well.
Faire iambes de vin. To take in store of liquor before the vndertaking of a iourney; to supple his legs, by soaking his head, in wine.
Mettre de l'eau dedans leur vin. Looke vnder Mettre.
Reposer son vin. To sleepe after a carousing, to disgest his wine by sleeping.
Vin de grain est plus doux que n'est pas vin de presse: Pro. Willing seruice, though but small, is more acceptable, then much extorted dutie.
Le vin n'a point de chaussure; &, le vin va sans chausses: Prov. Wine wanteth, or goeth without, breeches; viz. bewrayeth a mans infirmities, or worst parts; layeth open his shame, or layeth him open to shame.
