CONSTITUTION 437 Art. 61 The President of the Repubhc shall continue in the exercise of the duties of his ofiSce during the term of five years, and shall not be eligible for the succeeding term. Art. 62 To be eligible a second or more times, there must in each case have intervened the space of one term. Art. 63 The President of the Republic shall be elected by electors chosen by the people by direct suffrage. The number of these electors shall be three times the total number of Deputies belonging to the several departments. Art. 64 The electors shall be chosen by departments on the 25th day of June in the year when the Presidential term expires. Electors shall have the same qualifications as Deputies. Art. 65 The electors shall meet on the 2Sth of July of the year when the Presidential term expires, and proceed to the election of the President in conformity with the general law of elections. Art. 66 The electoral boards shall form two lists of all those persons who shall have been elected, and, after the same have been signed by all the electors, they shall send them enclosed and sealed, one to the Municipal Government of the capital of each province, in whose archives it shall remain deposited and closed, and the other to the Senate, where it shall be kept in the same manner until the 30th of August, Art. 67 On that day the aforesaid lists shall be opened and read in a public session of both chambers assembled in the hall of the Senate, the President of this latter body presiding, and the balloting, if such be necessary, shall at once begin. Art. 68 The person who shall have received an absolute majority of the votes shall be proclaimed President of the Republic,
