TOM PA 247 endows them-fteurs animées. This is a channing ge1 1re both in poetry and in painting, but if overdone, gives an impression of artificiality and affected sweetness. Tompa is much more fresh and bracing in his versified narratives, in which he takes an anecdote and transforms it into true poetry.
