Transcript of a copy of a Deed and a Memorandum relating to Cheney's Charity, entered at the end of the first volume of the Chesham Parish Register.

The Copie of a Deed past from Mr Thomas
Cheney to Mr John Cheney for a rente of vi
by the yere as Fallowing it may appere, as
allso another copie of the true vse, intent,
& meaning of the same Deed.


To all Christian people to whome this sent writing shall come, Thomas Cheney of Bmblehanger in the ish of Luton in the County of Bed Esq. sendeth greeting in o Lord God everlasting knowe ye I the sayd Thomas Chenye at the request of myne vncle John Cheney of Chesham Boyse in the County of Buck. Esq., & in Conscideraon of one hundreth pound of good & Lawfull money of England to me payd at thensealing of this nt writing by the sayd John Cheney & for the better relefe of the pore people inhabiting & Dwelling wthin the townes of Chesham Agmondisham & Draiton Bauchampe in the said County of Buck; haue geven granted & by theis sent Do give & graunte vnto Myles Sand nicholas West Esquiers Francis Cheney Henry Chenye Thomas Ashefeild gentlemen Robert Caloner pson of Agmondishim in the County of Buck. clerc. & John Lawton pson of Drayton Beuchamp in the sayd County of Buck: clerc. & their heirs one yerely rente of Fyve pound of good & Lawfull money of England going out of a Tene called the mose & out of a garden & Orchard therto adioyning & out of two meadowes conteyning thre acers & a half & out of theese cell of ground hereafter named: a wood called the owt wood conteyning by estemaon fower acers & a road, & a wood called the mose grove conteyning by estemaon Fower akers & an half, a close next outward called little wottage conteyning by estemaon fyve akers & a road, a close ioyning to yt called Broad close conteyning by estemacn Tenne ackers & an half: a close ioing to it called barne feild conteyning by estemac xj acr & a half: and a close ioyning to it called Bakers cont. by
