Never again shall I gaze
On the gleam of thy wonderful rays.
Soon the hour of thy splendour is o'er;
I shall look on thy beauty no more:
Thou wilt pass thro' the infinite space—
No mortal thy pathway may trace.
There is mystery stamp'd on thy brow—
A marvel, a secret, art thou.
Oh! would that to me it were given,
