F. G. Logan, being first duly sworn testified as follows; I am deputy post-master at Fairfield Illinois/ I received from Geo. W. Johns, on the 26th. day of October a letter addressed to M. B. Converse Clerk of the District Court of the U. S. Springfield Illinois and regestered and mailed said letter, so that it left Fairfield on the train on the Ohio & Mississippi Railroad, leaving Fairfield at 2.30 P. M. On said 26th day of October 1893, I also received a receipt from the mail agent on said train for said letter.
