Johnson, Thomas, created B.Med. 31 Jan., 1642-3, created D.Med. 9 May, 1643, "the best herbalist of his age in England;" born at Selby, Yorks, bred an apothecary in London, and kept shop on Snow Hill, a lieut.-col. in the garrison of Basing House, Hants; died Sept., 1644, from wounds received during a skirmish.
