Mostyn, Sir Roger, bart., created M.A. from Christ Church 14 July, 1696 (son of Sir Thomas Mostyn, of Kilken, kt.), said to have expended above £60,000 in the royal cause, took the castle of Hawarden and was appointed governor of Flint castle, created a baronet on the restoration 3 Aug., 1660, and died in 1726; father of Thomas 1667, and grandfather of the last-named.
