Trinity Coll., Dublin, 26 Jan., 1661; deacon 19 June, 1639, a minor canon of St. Patrick's cathedral, Dublin, 1642, chaplain to the Marquis of Ormond, lord lieutenant of Ireland; prebendary of Christ Christ and of St. Patrick's 1643; on the death of his father, dean of Killaloe 1642, deprived of all his preferments in 1649, and imprisoned, bishop of Elphin 1661, archbishop of Tuam 1667, and of Dublin 1679, treasurer of St. Patrick's 1678, chancellor of Cloyne 1678, and prebendary of Cloyne 1679, until his death 28 Dec., 1681.
