Brown, Robert, secretary to the Linnæan Society, (associate 1798) created D.C.L. 21 June, 1832, botanist, keeper of the botanical collections in British Museum 1827-58, F.R.S. 1811 (son of Rev. James Browne, of Montrose), born 21 Dec, 1773, died 10 June, 1858.
