audience, however, thought it quite wonderful and applauded continually throughout the show. They understand, far better than we do in America, its real meaning. Andy had to leave early and since the Metro had stopped I walked back to Rue Raynouard afterwards. It was long after midnight when I got there. The door was locked at Twenty-one, so I had to climb over the wall. Two other permissionaireswho had been down in the Latin Quarter came up while I was struggling to get in and the three of us managed to get over together.

I will probably go back to the Section tomorrow with Williams and Allen. We are to get our "Ordre de Movement" from the office of the Army Automobile Service, next to the Gobelin tapestry works, in the morning and leave from the Gare de l'Est at noon.
