All these particles are used strictly according to the meanings shown above, and cannot be used loosely like some interrogatives in English ; for example, y a k o a i ? ' how ? ' cannot be used to to ask the question ' how many?' for it is an adverb of manner ; ' how many ' must be m i n n a n.
