Fig. 2007 is a parlour chair turned in oak, chestnut, or any other British wood that has colour and variety in its textiu-e. It may be painted, or even gilt, according to the cha- racter of the room in which it is to be placed. The cushion may be of figured chintz. For a Gothic chair, Mr. Lamb considers that this Design would be a cheap one. Fig. 2008 is a din- ing-room chair, having — a stuffed cushion of crimson damask ; the vine leaves and grapes in the back should be painted of their natural tints. 2007
