Equipment: 1 - 75 KW Diesel Generator; 2 - 50 cu. ft. Diesel driven compressors; 1 complete set of Mark 14 torpedo overhaul equipment; 1 complete set of Mark 18 torpedo overhaul equipment. Capacity: The present capacity is the complete overhaul of three Mark 14 type torpedoes and two Mark 18 type torpedoes each day. Personnel: 7 officers and 91 enlisted men. Quarters for Personnel: There are four sleeping compartments; 1 berthing 42 men, 1 berthing 32 men, 1 berthing 14 men and 1 berthing 8 men. |

Subiaco Field Torpedo Unit No. 3 (temporary stationed at the Subiaco Torpedo Depot) |
Mission: The mission of this Unit is to maintain and adjust aircraft torpedoes. At present the personnel of this Unit are engaged in assisting the personnel of the Torpedo Depot in the overhaul of submarine torpedoes. Buildings: All Field Torpedo Unit equipment is mobile. There are no prefabricated structures. Equipment: The following are the major pieces of equipment: 1 7.5 cu. ft. gasoline engine air compressor mounted on a track laying trailer; 1 2 ton gasoline driven crane mounted on a track laying trailer; 4 T-9 tractors; 1 T-9 tractor crane; 8 - 2 ton track laying trailers; 1 workshop mounted on a track laying trailer; 1 10 ton track laying trailer; 1 mobile bunkhouse trailer; 1 Mark 1 and one Mark 2 Ford bomb trucks; 4 Mark 1 bomb trailers; 1 set of tools and spare parts for the preliminary and final adjustments of aircraft torpedoes. Capacity: The Field Torpedo Unit is designed to carry 16 torpedoes and maintain them in a fully ready condition. Personnel: 10 enlisted men. Field Torpedo Unit No. 3 is under complement in that there are no machinist's mates or aviation ordnancemen assigned to the Unit. Quarters: There is one bunkhouse trailer that accommodates 8 men.
