Ship Piers Cont'd

North Wharf: A 4,907 ft. dock on the north side of inner harbor with 36 ft. of water alongside. Constructed of reinforced concrete piles with bitumen covered timber decking. [Three and a half lines illegible.] All berths are provided with adequate railway facilities and...under ship's... There are three...equipped with portable grain handling gear. Water for drinking...system provided at all berths




Anchorages

GAGE ROADS: [Three lines illegible.] Gage Roads, at the entrance to the Fremantle Harbor, provides a ... water from 6 is... No mooring...is provided.

COCKBURN SOUND: [Three lines illegible.]...located south of Fremantle Harbor between...island ...order construction by...are replicated. Cockburn Sound will provide anchorage for a large number of ships up to and including heavy cruisers.




Barge and Boat Piers - None





Floating Equipment

2 Steam tugs; 3 water lighters, 325 tons each; no oil barges.

These facilities are not owned by the U.S. Navy. They are provided by the Fremantle Harbor Trust.




LST and LCT Beaches

REMARKS: There are no beaches which are used for LST and LCT's in this area. However, this [??] beaches available for such vessels.




Roads

REMARKS: Hard surfaced roads maintained by [??] are available and used by the U.S. Navy [??]. These roads are adequate to U.S. Naval purposes. Maps are available at the Department of Lands and Surveys.
