coming on—The 2nd Brigade consisting of about the same number with this is at Burlington Hill—Tho the suclamp[?] among the troops in the town[?] last winter was very mortal, it is now subsided and the men are very healthy.

What will be the situation of the Army by next June I cannot divine—it is expected that it will be augmented to 20 or 30,000, when the opening[?] of a Campaign is anticipated—of that however, you can as well judge [as] I all being, at present mere conjecture and guess-work.

Opperations seem to wear tardily indeed.

The Brittish force is not currently to be ascertain'd, they are principally in the Lower Province withdrawn to Montreal and Quebec, except guards, with which ours have frequent skirmishes—

A flying report of this morning states that our garrison at Ogdensburg is taken by the Brittish—but it is mere report at present—probably it may be true—a few days will determine—A part of our Reg't are order'd to repair to, or nigh, that place directly—
