AKSHOBHYA DEKSHUT.

Was a Mardhava bramia and inhabitant of Sravanore. He studied philosophy from a very early age, and is said to have been a proficient in the Karnatic, and Maharata languages. The whole of his time was occupied in literary pursuits. He wrote several works on the tenets of the Mardhava sect, but his compositions are very scarce and hard to be now procured. He was an able controvertist, and defended his own system of Theology, with considerable talent. He is reported to have died in his native village Sravanore.



YALLAYA.

Yallaya was a native of the town of Vijayanagram, and lived in the year of Saiivahana 1390, while Virupaksha Roya was king of Anagondi, this individual was an adept in Astrology and Astronomy, to which Sciences he regularly applied from his very infancy. He wrote several treatises on Astronomy, and among them a commentary on the solar system called Surya,
