SPOTTED SANDPIPER.

Length, 7.50 inches. Adult, upper parts brownish gray and black; under parts white spotted with black; a white patch in wing. Young, similar, but without black.

KILLDEER.

Length, 10.50 inches. Tapper parts brownish gray, upper tail-coverts rusty; under parts white; two bands on breast, crown and lores black, forehead and nape white.
