sage, Writing, or in any other Manner, endeavour to persuade any Elector to give or dissuade any Elector from giving his Vote for the Choice of any Person to be Member to serve in Parliament for the said Borough: Provided always, that nothing in this Enactment contained shall subject any Constable to any Penalty for any Act done by him at or concerning any such Election in the Discharge of his Duty.

Continuance of Act.

XV. And be it enacted, That this Act shall continue in force for Two Years, and from thence until the End of the then next Session of Parliament.

Act may be amended, &c.

XVI. And be it enacted, That this Act may be amended or repealed by any Act to be passed in this Session of Parliament.

Public Act.

XVII. And be it enacted, That this Act shall be deemed and taken to be a Public Act; and shall be judicially taken notice of as such by all Judges, Justices, and others.


CAP. LXXXIX.

An Act to apply a Sum out of the Consolidated Fund, and the Surplus of Ways and Means, to the Service of the Year One thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine, and to appropriate the Supplies granted in this Session of Parliament,
[27th August 1889.]

Most Gracious Sovereign,

WE Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects the Commons of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, in Parliament assembled, towards making good the Supply which we have cheerfully granted to Your Majesty in this Session of Parliament, have resolved to grant unto Your Majesty the Sums herein-after mentioned;#

There shall be applied, for the Year 1839, 5,796,000. out of the Consolidated Fund

and do therefore most humbly beseech Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, That there shall and may be issued and applied, for or towards making good the Supply granted to Her Majesty for the Service of the Year One thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine, the Sum of Five millions seven hundred and ninety-six thousand Pounds out of the Consolidated Fund of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, and the Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, or any Three or more of them, or the Lord High Treasurer of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland for the Time being, are or is hereby authorized and empowered to issue and apply the same accordingly.

The Treasury may cause 5,796,000L of Exchequer


II. And be it enacted, That it shall and may be lawful for the said Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury, or any
