THE FAR HILL

THERE were many long, idle hours when Fen lay in the deck-chair looking out across the Mediterranean and living over and over again all the wonderful days when Siddereticus had been with him. He had not forgotten the smallest incident in any one of the D jinn's visits—they were precious things that nothing, no one, could take away from him. Somehow their parting at Venice did not seem final. Fen felt none of the despair which had filled him when the yacht left the Nile—and Siddereticus—behind.
