what a taynt is.

A Taynt is a thyng that gooth oueꝛwaꝛte the federis of the wynges, and of the tayll lyke as it were eetyn with woꝛmys, and it begynyth fiꝛſt to brede at the body, in the penne and that ſame penne ſhll frete aſondeꝛ, and falle a way thuꝛrow theſſame taynte and then is the hawke diſparagid foꝛ all that yere.

Medecynys to Enſayme yowre hawke.

Take the Rote of Raſue and do it in clene wateꝛ, and lay thy fleſh theꝛ in, to tempeꝛ a grete whyle, and yeue it to yowre hawke to eete, and if ſhe eete theꝛof, drede not bot hit ſhall benymme hiꝛ grece, bot within iij. days ſhe ſhall not grettely abate.

Alſo take puliall and gaꝛlek and ſtampe it wele to gedeꝛ, and wꝛynge owte the Juce in a dyſh, and then weete the fleſh theꝛ in, and fede yowre hawke theꝛwyth, and bot it tempuꝛ yowre hawke, that is to ſay enſayme yowre hawke, with in iiij. days, I meꝛuell. Bot looke eueri day that ye make new Juce and whan ye fede hiꝛ, weete yowre meete theꝛ in.
